The Proust Questionnaire
The Proust Questionnaire is a classic salon party game of Proust’s time and ours. For turn of the century folk, friends would record their answers to the questionnaire year after year in the same book, and watch how responses changed over time. Remember slam books? It was like that.
The questionnaire wasn’t invented by Proust, but owes its eponymousness to the fact that his answers were famously published. It’s resurged as part of the cultural cannon today as a segment on Inside The Actor’s Studio, and in Vanity Fair Magazine. And you can find answers online from the likes of David Bowie, Amy Poehler, and of course from Proust himself.
‘I Read All Of In Search of Lost Time And All I Got Was This Stupid T-Shirt’ it says in french. And it has a point.
The IRL versions of these were made by hand with an inkjet iron-on transfer. Sometimes you just gotta do a Staples run.
The event’s digital hype content destined for Facebook & Instagram, with a madeleine theme.
